Our Artistic Standards
Rationale
At Ampersand Pages, we strive to provide a platform where students can share artwork with a wide variety of subject matters. However, as a publication representative of Kettle Moraine School for Arts and Performance and the Kettle Moraine School District, the following standards must serve as a guide to direct students toward school-appropriate content.

As members of a public school community writing for a public forum, KM Perform students will avoid subject matter containing the following elements:

These standards apply to all submission formats. Any submitted pieces that violate these standards will be rejected from the literary journal.

Restricted Material
As members of a public school community writing for a public forum, KM Perform students will avoid subject matter containing the following elements:
- Graphic descriptions of sexual activity
- Graphic descriptions of violence
- Graphic depictions of death
- Graphic depictions of drug or alcohol use
- Profanity
- Discriminatory or hateful speech
- Use of weapons
- Suicidal thoughts or actions
- Self-harm references
- Any illegal activities
- Any other violations of the KM Perform Student Handbook
Additional Standards
- No Fanart or Fanfiction - original content only
- No stories involving real people (other than yourself)
- No non-creative nonfiction (all writing must be presented in prose)
- No large group collaborations
- Excerpts of longer works are allowed as long as they stand on their own
- No incomplete pieces (mostly art-specific)
- No AI generated art/writing or plagiarism
These standards apply to all submission formats. Any submitted pieces that violate these standards will be rejected from the literary journal.
